Our clientele comes from a wide range of industries, ranging from financial,
management consulting and health care to transportation, e-commerce, government
and non-profit organizations. Our client
list ranges from small web site design and development to large enterprise
level software applications.
Below are a few of our most recent projects; software applications and web
sites, selected to showcase
our flexibility and the wide variety of our expertise.

The C.N. Brown
Company
Goal: C.N. Brown approached Standard
I-O with several needs. Their website needed a facelift, they
needed to be able to offer their customers a way to order oil
products online, they wanted to showcase their "Big Apple
Stores" chain, and they wanted the site to highlight and
enhance the C.N. Brown image.
Solution: The Standard
I-O designers worked with C.N. Brown to come up
with a look-and-feel that was consistent with C.N. Brown's
"warm" image. The C.N. Brown website supports dynamic updates
for things like oil prices, Big Apple specials, new locations,
locations for lease, and much more. The site also allows
customers to order oil products right online for home
delivery. The site is actually three sites in one:
C.N. Brown Corporate, C.N. Brown heating oil, and the Big Apple Food Stores chain.

Parco Merged Media,
Inc.
Goal: Parco Merged Media asked us to develop
a corporate identity and website that has the ability to
update site content on a regular basis to address potential
clients, partners, and investors. We were also asked to create
a media presentation which could be distributed via a disk or
be viewed from the website.
Solution: We worked with
the Parco marketing team to design the company logo and web
site with a custom admin for daily site updates. We designed
an exciting Flash presentation to introduce the
company to interested parties. We were further retained, based
in part on our performance with this project, to design and
build the entire software portion of their geo-positioning
product which is now being considered as a key component of
the government mandated ER-1 system for hospital emergency
rooms in the Washington D.C. hospital center and eventually
across the country.

MESDA
Goal:
MESDA (Maine’s software and information technology industry
association) came to Standard I-O with a clear goal. They
wanted a site that represented them as a technology-savvy
association while providing a portal that regional companies
could use as a valuable resource for things like
recruiting/job hunting, press releases, community discussion,
and all types of technology information as it relates to
Northern New England.
Solution: We worked with the
Executive Director of MESDA, Joseph Kumiszcza, to create
things like a Job Board, a calendar of events, a discussion
area, a Special Interest Group Portal (SIG), and a multitude
of other useful tools that the community could use to advance
the understanding and use of technology in Northern New
England.

The Swedenborgian Church of
Portland
Goal: The Swedenborgian Church of Portland (SCP) had a simple
need. They needed a website presence to make things like events and
newsletters available to their congregation, and they didn't have much money.
Solution: Standard I-O combined components that we had already created
and put together a simple yet effective site that would allow SCP to manage and
publish information. We did this on a pro-bono basis as a community service.

Network
Managment Services
Goal: Network Management Services
(NMS) wanted a basic brochure website that would simply
give customers and potential customers a way to find out more about their
company and contact them if desired. They needed it quick, it had to be
inexpensive, and it had to look good.
Solution: Standard I-O put together a
site that met the requirements and was live in three days. It was done quickly and
inexpensively, and NMS was very pleased with the look.

HealthFitnesTips.com
Goal: The goals of
HealthFitnessTips.com were many. The management at HFT wanted
a portal where people interested in health, fitness, and
bodybuilding could go to find information on those subjects,
including products, articles, pictures, news, advertising, and anything else
related to health and fitness. It was very important that the site be dynamic
and changing on a daily basis.
Solution: Standard I-O actually built
two sites. One is the site that the general public sees; the
other is a password protected administrative site. All of the
content of the site is managed by HFT via this
administrative area. Things like advertisements, articles, site usage, customer
registration, and a long list of other functions are also managed here.

The Maine
Communications Network
Goal: To create a portal site that
would then lead visitors to other sites related to the different TV shows
created by Maine Communications Network (MCN). MCN also needed these other
sites developed as well.
Solution: Standard I-O created
three separate sites for Maine Communications Network:
MaineCommunicationsNetwork.com, TreasureHuntShow.com,
and AppraisalShow.com.

Standardio.org
E-zine
Goal: The goal for this site was to create a
resource where we could share our expertise with other developers and
developers-to-be.
Solution: We created a website where we could publish articles and the
community could discuss and ask questions about the information and ideas
presented in the articles. The site is an e-zine, where advertisers can
promote goods and services related to software development, especially as it
applies to our areas of expertise, primarily the Microsoft.NET framework.

Financial
For Pearl Investments we
created a fully automated
real-time trading system which operates in the corporate equity
marketplace. Based on their trading strategies, which we studied
and replicated in the system software, they
make handsome profits on a daily basis.
Insurance
For UnumProvident we
have provided several confidential mission critical applications,
both Windows-based and Intranet-based.
We have developed inspection
management and billing applications for both the Tower
Hill Insurance Group and Alexander
& Schmidt.
For the Todd
Benefits Group
we created a
dynamic online rating system which calculates and quotes premiums based on
dozens of
variables. This system is used by the employees of TBG's corporate
customers.
Healthcare
For Parco
Merged Media we developed a wireless network, data storage, and
geo-location system for use in healthcare facilities. We designed an
integration toolkit which third-parties use to integrate with the system
we developed, and we provide a certification service to insure that the
third-party products designed
for the Parco system are up to the Parco standard. We also
designed a Flash-enhanced website for them, as well as
their logo.
Management Consulting
We wrote the
Q-Online system Management Research Group
which allows MRG
questionnaires to be ordered, completed, scored, printed, and managed
online. The questionnaires are designed by MRG specialists to
help managers gain insight into how they compare with other managers in
similar positions around the world. The system we built, based on
MRG's expertise, is being used by organizations like Sprint and Harvard to
help them gain a competitive edge.
Transportation
Our custom data transfer components power the LiveLoad
product for ProfitTools, Inc. This
software allows clients of trucking companies to get real-time pickup and
delivery confirmations, ETAs, and freight locations. |
